Why this role matters?

As our Service Request Designer, you'll be responsible for delivering workable & efficient design / networking solutions, to enable successful delivery of complex secure national infrastructure, for our Defence contract within the BT Business Managed Service (BMS) area. You'll work collaboratively across all defence teams, to ensure the successful fulfilment of orders, delivered proactively within agreed timeframes, and achieve our customer’s expectation of service excellence.
 

What you'll be doing

1. Design solution to detail equipment, components, networks services, cabinet layouts, connectivity diagrams, and field team work instructions
2. Identify and communicate risk, in respect to any impact on delivery within customer SLA’s
⁠3. Support the implementation of new technologies onto the secure defence infrastructure
⁠rack & update asset management databases with implemented design change
4. Work to agreed operational performance measures, whilst maintaining the appropriate level of product, network & system knowledge for the role.
5. Track & update asset management databases with implemented design change

What we would like to see on your CV

1. Good IT Literacy skills. (MS Office) Able to manipulate data, prepare documents and presentation
2. Use of Microsoft Visio (preferred).
3. Prioritisation of complex workloads, dealing with multiple complex orders.
4. Ability to work both independently & collaboratively with internal/external customers
5. If not already held, to be able to obtain SC level security clearance (mandatory)

This role offers a 3 together, 2 wherever working model. This means you are required to be at your contractual location 3 days a week with 2 flexible days per week.
