Why this role matters
As Senior Finance Manager for Financial Reporting & Control, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end month-end close process and financial reporting for Networks and Digital, ensuring integrity, accuracy, and compliance with accounting standards and Group requirements. You will lead a team of four direct reports and coordinate with internal and external auditors to maintain a strong control environment and drive continuous process improvement.
What you'll be doing
- End-to-end ownership of month-end close, reporting and financial integrity for Networks and Digital, ensuring accurate P&L, depreciation, capex, cash and balance sheet reporting to tight deadlines.
- Coordinate all Networks and Digital business units to a strict timetable for month-end close and consolidation across all components.
- Lead the identification and resolution of significant accounting matters and judgements, producing high-quality accounting papers and providing key support to external and internal audit teams.
- Drive process improvement, standardisation and simplification of financial reporting across business units while maintaining strong governance and controls compliance.
- Lead and develop a team of UK and offshore Direct Reports, providing mentorship and coaching to maximise team impact and identify efficiency opportunities.
The skills you'll need
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience in financial reporting, controls and accounting.
- Proven experience in financial close processes, consolidation, and production of management and statutory financial reports.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience developing and motivating finance teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated ability to engage senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Experience with accounting systems, consolidation tools, and process improvement initiatives in complex, matrixed environments.
